Purpose: We will design the imaging optical system with a focal length of 35 mm that can image an image of mid-wave infrared (MWIR).
Methods: The desired solution can be obtained by using Ge and Si materials with good transmission characteristics for MWIR and by carrying out optimization with weighting for elimination of the chromatic aberration, spherical aberration, and distortion which affect the resolution.
Results: The optimized optical system consists of three lenses with material distribution of (Si, Ge, Ge) and refraction powers with a distribution of (+, ?, +). This optical system also has a resolution performance with MTF value of 0.4 at 15.0 lp/mm.
Conclusions: It is judged that the optimized optical system has enough performance to be applied to the MWIR detector with 360 ¡¿ 270 arrays configuration of 34 ¥ìm pixels.
